Adult Choir Kick-off Rehearsal – Wednesday, September 10

Our first Kick-Off rehearsal will be on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30pm in the church choir loft. All are invited to join us.

The choir rehearses each Wednesday September through May and sings for the 10:30 Sunday Mass with a brief rehearsal at 10am in the Sarah Black Room.  We also sing for Christmas, Holy Week and Easter, as well as our annual Service of Lessons and Carols, this year Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 4pm.

Also, this year the choir will perform the Fauré Requiem on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 4pm.

By becoming a member of a choir you provide yourself with enriching experiences that enable you to develop spiritually and personally.   Singing spiritual music gives you the opportunity to slow down your mind and connect with your heart, thus experiencing an encounter with God that is truly life changing and personally enriching.

Musical experience is not necessary.  Many of our members do not read music, but rather rely on those who do read music and the rehearsal time to learn the music. The choir also welcomes those who can sing for just part of the year according to what you life-circumstances and schedule will allow. Some of our members have the demands of career or children and need to take time off or to lighten their choir commitment.

If you want to try it out, join us on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30pm in the church choir loft.  If you cannot and would like more information, contact David Bower at the Parish Center or at david.bower@nyu.edu . Or just see him in between Masses on any weekend.
