GIRL SCOUT RELIGIOUS RECOGNITION PROGRAMS AND AWARDS

On Sunday February 28th the Archdiocesan Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries held the 2016 Catholic Girl Scout Recognition Awards Ceremony at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark.  Several local girls participated in the ceremony and received awards.  The recognition program, administered by the National Catholic Committee for Girl Scouts and Camp Fire (NCCGSCF), encourages young women to explore and become more involved in their Catholic faith.  The NCCGSCF does this by producing and disseminating age-appropriate materials that support and complement the catechetical efforts of parents, parishes and schools.

Congratulations to the twelve award-winning members of  Scout Troops 40098, 40222, 40534, 40665, 40894 and 40951 for completion of these Award Programs, listed in ascending order:

The Mother of God Program

The Family of God Program

The I Live My Faith Program

Mary, the First Disciple Program

We extend expressions of appreciation to the advisers, parents and others for their efforts in encouraging and assisting the award winners.
