Feed My Lambs, Feed My Sheep

Once again, parishioners of St. Michael’s met the challenge, just as they have been doing for over fifteen years!  Every day for the last two weeks as I entered the church I saw more and more of the back pews filled with baby clothes, blankets, diapers, food, toys and more – all this as a way of honoring Jesus’ grandparents, Saints Joachim and Anne, on their July 26 Feast Day.

One day I was present when a donor came in to make her gift delivery.  I couldn’t help but see the sense of joy that radiated from her as she added her gift bag to the growing collection of donations, already seated in the pews, placed there by others, like her, happy to honor God and help the people at St. Clare’s Home, a state licensed transitional home for infants and children with specialized medical needs.  The home, located in Elizabeth is a service of the AIDS Resource Foundation for Children.

“Whatever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, you do to me.”

Well done, St. Michael Parishioners!
