7th Annual Cranford Day of Service in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King

The Cranford Clergy Council again this year is sponsoring and coordinating the Cranford Community Day of Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King. Thank you for your continuing support of our annual Day of Service and Service Project Fair which provide us with opportunities to work together in service to others.  The Service Project Fair will take place on Monday, January 21 from 4:30 – 6:30 PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Cranford.

THIS YEAR’S INITIATIVES

This year’s Service Project is the food collection and assembling of packages for active duty servicemen and servicewomen and needy in our local area through agencies such as the YWCA Women’s Shelter and Community Access Unlimited (Elizabeth). This includes donated diapers for Raphael’s Life House, cleaning products for Homefirst in Plainfield and FISH Hospitality and lunches for St. Joseph’s Mission (Elizabeth) and Food for Friends (Rahway).

Monetary donations are also welcome and will be sent to our 2019 Service Project charity,  Backpacks for Life (www.backpacksforlife.org), as our participation in helping them reach their goal of $120,000 for their Bowery Pack Campaign: their goal is to train veterans to manufacture and distribute the Bowery backpacks to homeless veterans.
