ANNOUNCEMENT: CHURCH CLOSED DUE TO COVID-19

Hello, Saint Michael Family.

Please be advised that Monday afternoon I was notified that Fr. Sebastian tested positive for COVID-19. He was last in the church on Sunday November 8, 2020. Father Sebastian will quarantine and not return to parish work until he produces a negative test result and a doctor’s note authorizing return to work. Fr. Sebastian has been interviewed to see who he interacted with while at the parish this past weekend and those who had close contact with him will be contacted.

The safety of you and your families is paramount here at St. Michael Church. We continue to exhaustively implement our health and wellness protocols in our buildings at the parish and school.

I want to advise you that in light of this situation the following will need to take place …
• Father Sebastian and I will be quarantining for the next 14 days.
• The church will remain closed for in person attendance during this quarantine time.
• The Church will be thoroughly recleaned and sanitized.
• The Parish Center will be closed until further notice.
• Daily Mass will be LIVESTREAMED Monday thru Friday at 12 noon only until further notice.
• Sunday Mass will be LIVESTREAMED ONLY at 9:30 am on our Facebook Page and our Website until further notice.
• Our four Confirmation Celebrations scheduled for Saturday November 21st and Sunday November 22nd will need to be postponed. We will advise impacted families as soon as we are able to reschedule.
• We will update you as needed.

If you require a priest in an emergency, please call 908-477-3093 and leave a number where you can be reached. The covering priest will contact you. For other parish business, please call the Parish Center at 908-276-0360 and leave a message. Messages will be checked several times daily.

Let us continue to cooperate with the advice of Public Health Authorities in response to the ongoing realities of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Please know that you and your families are in my prayers during these unsettling times, we ask you to please keep us in yours as well.

St. Michael the Archangel … pray for us!

God Bless You,

Msgr. Timothy J. Shugrue
Pastor
