WHAT WILL JESUS FIND WHEN HE COMES AGAIN?

Jesus said to his disciples:
“There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars,
and on earth nations will be in dismay,
perplexed by the roaring of the sea and the waves.
People will die of fright
in anticipation of what is coming upon the world . . .
And then they will see the Son of Man
coming in a cloud with power and great glory. . .

“Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy
from carousing and drunkenness
and the anxieties of daily life,
and that day catch you by surprise like a trap. . .
Be vigilant at all times;
pray that you have the strength. . .
to stand before the Son of Man.”
Luke 21:25-28, 34-36

Let us heed this Gospel and “beware that our hearts have not become drowsy
from. . .the anxieties of daily life”
that we are not caught “by surprise.” Instead, let us ” pray that we may have the strength” to stand before Jesus, whom we serve.

What will Jesus find when He comes again and stands before us? What will he see that we are doing with our lives? What will we be loving and longing for? What “gospel” will we be proclaiming?

What will he find of the Church he left us and how we are this Church, fulfilling the mission he gave it?
